This place is total old school, if you go in understanding that and appreciating the Kitch factor, you'll be much better for the experience. Service was attentive, food was very tasty and well executed, nothing modern, nothing edgy, just old-school style meat and seafood. The place is a little bit like the Winchester mystery house with its different rooms and settings, but I think that adds to the overall vibe. Did not sit in the atrium, sat in the captains room, I was just hoping that I would get a captains hat because I was sitting in the captains room, but it didn't happen. I'm thinking they need to provide some paper captains hats for everybody who sits in the captains room but then again I'm not running the show.

My family has a house out here and we always passed by here wherever we drive in. Never would I thought how big this place was from the outside. Visited this amazing place for my mother in laws bday and let me tell you it didn't disappoint us at all. Everything was amazing, from the ambiance to the staff, the food and the service was great!! Our sever Xavier and his assistant Reggie were great. Explain the menu and a little bit of the history about the sardine factory. I decided to go with the special which it was the cioppino. It had everything from salmon, scallops, prawns, clams and mussels. Super rich and hearty something that definitely filled me up. They had an amazing wine selection which apparently is over 20k wines "That's insane". We finished the night with this amazing strawberry sorbet that came in a swan shape ice sculpture. My mother in law was amazed and overjoyed of how good everything was!! Great way to celebrate her birthday, definitely will be back to celebrate special occasions or just to visit and try new items. Thank you Xavier and Reggie, you both made our experience a hundred times better!!

Beautiful interior with lively jazz music~ Chicken wings and Parmesan tots were crispy and mouthwatering with each bite! Friendly service and I love the chic faux-newspaper liners. Perfect for a night out!

Ambiance!!! It's gorgeous! It felt like we were transported to somewhere in Europe and not in Monterey! We opted for the Conservatory (pics shown below), and it was so pretty in all different lighting from sunset to the night. Service was standard - waiters were nice. Escargot appetizer - please get this! The sauce is so decadent and is so good! Honestly the escargot itself didn't add much to it, but the bread was good to soak up all the sauce. The bread came with white sesame seeds, which wasn't bad per se but it caught me off guard and I would've preferred it without. The "world famous" abalone bisque was not what I expected - it was more of a chowder than bisque to me, and its flavor profile was overly dominated by white wine. They skimped on abalone, so it was kind of disappointing. Burrata mushroom pasta was very yummy - anything with burrata is automatically yummy honestly. Overall I would say worth a visit for the ambiance! Just prepared to be super weighed down by the food after!
